A Call To Solidarity

Posted: January 3, 2006

Brothers and Sisters, As some of you may know, Local 210 is currently in negotiations with the Company. As I’m sure you all remember, their membership emphatically supported us throughout our negotiations process and as active members of Local 1238, I would like to stress the importance of reciprocating that support. The Local 210 contract with Atlantic Electric expired December 15, 2005 and they are currently working under a contract extension. As in our negotiations, we will be working together with Local 1307 and Local 210 to display our true solidarity. Moving forward, we will be asking the entire membership for support in the various activities that will be communicated to you through postings and our web site. Firstly, we are asking that all members wear black on Mondays and Fridays until further notice. If you still have the shirts from our negotiations, please wear them, if not, anything black will suffice. For some of these activities, we will need volunteers from Local 1238 to assist Local 210. If you are interested in volunteering, please use the Contact Us portion of this site or email us at ibew1238@aol.com. There will be negotiations updates for Local 210 available on a weekly basis on this site. We encourage all members of Local 1307, Local 1238, and Local 210 to visit our site to monitor their progress and show your support for the Local 210 Negotiating Committee.
