Letter From Local 210
Posted: January 9, 2006
Dear Brothers and Sisters, The following is an update letter from Local 210 to the members: TO ALL IBEW LOCAL 210 MEMBERS AT ATLANTIC CITY ELECTRIC As promised the negotiating committee feels it is important to keep you the membership updated on the current negotiations with the Company. Unfortunately no significant progress has been made in the New Year, but once again we would like to update you on the issues in front of us. These issues include: 1. Stormy weather 2. Combining Substation and Relay or Communication crews on common jobs. 3. Using 2 man crews at night in the Overhead Dept. 4. Elimination of contractor matching in the plants. 5. Reduced pension benefits if you have less than 30 years, and you want to retire at age 55. 6. Elimination of some health care plans. 7. Making future retirees pay 20% to their medical 8. Major changes in the cost of prescriptions, sometimes costing the employee up to 30% of the prescription. And last, but not least 9. Drastic changes in the sick time program. These are most of the issues, but not all. The negotiating committee feels it is important to have these issues out there so you, the membership can see what they want to take from you while the Company makes record profits. Now is the time for you the members to stand together and show the Company they are in for a fight by following the strategic plan now and in the weeks to come. Once again we cannot forget our Brothers and Sisters at Locals 1238 & 1307 and how much they have helped us, and will continue to help us in the future towards obtaining YOU a fair and equitable contract. Once again we would like to thank you the members for your support and will be depending on it in the very near future. In Solidarity, Your Negotiating Committee
