Local 210 Update

Posted: February 6, 2006

The following is the Monday morning letter from Local 210 to their membership: TO ALL IBEW LOCAL 210 MEMBERS AT ATLANTIC CITY ELECTRIC To date the Company and Union have met on 39 occasions and many issues still remain unresolved. While your negotiating committee has been battling over working conditions, it has become evident that some of these issues will be decided by you the members when the time comes. As you have seen your strike leaders have been posting strike schedules for use in the future if needed. Many major issues are still on the table, with some not being talked about at all as of yet. If you haven’t already seen in the past postings, our CEO can receive massive pay raises while our membership is asked to continually give back because we are overpaid and dysfunctional. We would also like to inform our members of a letter the company has been sending out to local municipalities informing them a tentative agreement is imminent. Your negotiating committee would like to tell you that nothing could be further from the truth. As we continue to negotiate out work practices, we look ahead to begin digging in for the benefits discussions. This could prove to be a lengthy process, and we would like to remind everyone to remain focused. Also keep in mind that our brothers and sisters at Locals 1238 & 1307 are behind us, and attend our Strategic meetings each week. Now, more than ever it is important for everyone to work safe and stay united. In solidarity your Union Negotiating Committee
