Monthly Update

Dear Members: We would like to take the time to update you on the issues and events that have taken place over the last month. As many of you are aware, Local 1238 filed a grievance concerning the Company’s new Absenteeism Control Policy. We have run through the grievance procedure and have filed for arbitration. The arbitration process is timely and we are hopeful to be in arbitration over this issue by fall of this year. For those of you who do not know, Local 1238 purchased a new building to house our offices. The address is 6 Larch Ave Newport, De Unit 410. Although we have purchased a new facility, we will still have the meetings at the Holiday Inn on Rte. 273. We are currently putting the finishing touches on the offices and are hopeful to have the relocation complete by 6/1/06. We would like to take the time to thank Steve Newberry, Skip Walker, and Paul Simon for volunteering their time to help wire the new hall. We would also like to send a special thanks to Dan Lacey from Line Department for donating time, material, and expertise in designing and completing the electrical service for the new building. In regards to Delaware City, Conectiv is set to have their second meetings with Valero during the week of May 15th. Local 1238 will not be meeting with Valero until their meetings with Conectiv Energy are complete. We will be relaying new information to the members as soon as it comes in to the office.
