Delaware City Refinery Closing

Brothers and Sisters:
Once again I am writing to you in the most difficult of times. This morning, at approximately 10:00 A.M., Valero informed the Union that the Delaware City Refinery would be shutting down all operations and closing its gates permanently. The shutdown will result in the loss of all employment at the facility including IBEW, USW, management and contractors. The Union has scheduled a meeting with Valero on November 23, 2009 to begin negotiations for our members. The Negotiating Committee with consist of Paul Simon, John Boulden, Daryl Fithian and Bob Stanton. We will be communicating with the members at Delaware City throughout the process.
